Meeting the students and faculty of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Design as a guest lecturer this week was incredible. Over the course of four days in the workshop "Designing Intelligent Applications for Health and Well-being", I guided thirty-five Masters of Design students through the topics of spatial computing and artificial intelligence in app design across Apple platforms. I was inspired by the students' enthusiasm for these technologies: one student, Wei Du, was already building apps for Apple Vision Pro! Throughout the week, each student group designed their own app concept leveraging Siri AI and/or Foundation Models, focusing on identifying a meaningful use case of the technology in health and well-being that was of personal relevance to them or their communities. The students' app designs ranged from guided rehabilitation, to meditation practice, and even for massage training. You can learn more about them here: https://lnkd.in/gndH7YmP Last but not least, a big thank you to Professor Zhan Zhang for the kind invitation, and for the wonderful SJTU Master's student Shi Rumei for helping me with my class and with living in beautiful Shanghai this week. hashtag #SJTU hashtag #design hashtag #education hashtag #SiriAI hashtag #spatial hashtag #visionOS
